I’ve lived in New York for nine months and I can finally say that I feel settled.
I’d characterize my first two months as taxing, but calm. I didn’t know many people, so I came home everyday after work. And I had already given myself a disorientation allowance, so it felt normal to feel not-normal.
The next [...]

Okay, so I lied. There are no pandas here.
Boy Watch! just didn’t have the same ring to it.
So, remember the Yankees boy? The one I liked after our Yankees game date… but then decided that he called too much?
Well, the story never really ended with him. Until last Friday night.
I declare this “relationship” o-v-e-r.
We’ve been [...]

So.
I walked out of the crowded subway car and across the street to Yankee Stadium. I texted to tell him I’d arrived. He called to tell me his location.
Since we met at a bar, I could hardly remember what he looked like. I’d looked him up on Facebook - natch - but that hadn’t been [...]

A new school year.
Freshly sharpened pencils? Check.
New book bag? Check?
School crush?
Also, check.
I was all set to elaborate on the pros/cons of my New-Situation-Crush. (I always end up with one of those.) But then this weekend happened.
And I think I’m over it.
Let’s rewind.
Tony is cute. He’s Italian (and therefore dark-skinned) and a pretty smart guy. He’s [...]

In the span of the last several months, I had lost some weight. The extra that had been affixed to my thighs, bottom, and tummy were gone as a result of the break-up diet. Best diet ever - btw.
In the span of the last several days, it is likely that the extra curviness has returned. [...]

So, the last six months have been monumental in this girl’s life. Monumental as in, CHANGE. Lots of change. Some cope by crying, some by stressing. Today, I was thinkin’…
I may have coped by letting a little of my hometown white trash rear its ugly head.
My White-Trash Confessions:
My driver’s side window has lost its powerful [...]

As in the movie. Starring Will Smith. Yes?
I watched a rerun on TNT this weekend and - now that I am wiser woman, as well as a spurned woman - caught something that just never stood out to me before.
The dolphin wedding ring Will Smith gives his stripper girlfriend.
Friends! I searched and searched the internets [...]

I went to see the Tripping Billies - a Dave Matthews cover band so good that if you close your eyes, you might think it’s Dave - a couple nights ago.
While there, an observation was made that - I think - will be important for women everywhere.
Men like bangs.
This is so strange to me because [...]

The other week, Facebook did a Sweet Home Alabama and flung an old flame from the past to the present. Though we weren’t technically married ala SHA, we were high school sweethearts and did elope during one very wild Sadie Hawkins.
Because he is, as my friend Kirsten politely puts it, simple, let’s call him Backwoods [...]

You and I have already discussed my adoration of the brilliance + convenience that is Netflix.
The site has changed the way it categorizes your movie preferences. It used to be like:
“Ohhhkay, Sarah. It appears you liked 27 Dresses. You must like ROMANTIC COMEDIES! Hahahaha.”
(In my head, the Netflix Czar has a booming voice and makes [...]
